NXP offers a competitive time away program in additional to nine paid holidays. Leave is also available for bereavement and for when you are called to jury service.

Holidays

NXP has two different holiday schedules  - a Standard Holiday Schedule and a Flex Holiday Schedule. Each employee will receive paid time off under one but not both of these schedules. The VP of Global Rewards will determine the applicable holiday schedule(s). Employees should check with their manager or Human Resources representative to determine the applicable holiday schedule in each Flex/Holiday year, as provided below. The following discussion provides the key elements of these schedules.

The following provisions apply only to employees on the Standard Holiday Schedule

NXP annually grants employees payment of up to eight hours (for non-exempt¹ employees) or pay for one workday (for exempt² employees) at the employee's regular rate of pay, including any shift premium. The Flex/Holiday year is February 1-January 31. These are the following 9 holidays observed:

  • Memorial Day
  • Juneteenth
  • Independence Day
  • Labor Day
  • Thanksgiving Day
  • Day after Thanksgiving
  • Christmas Eve
  • Christmas Day
  • New Year’s Day

When a holiday falls on a Saturday or Sunday, it will be observed on either the Friday before or the Monday after the holiday. Part-time employees, interns, coops and students are only eligible for the scheduled holidays that occur during the period they work, and only receive pay for the actual hours they are scheduled to work on these holidays. Non-exempt employees required to work scheduled holiday receive Holiday Premium pay. Please see below under “Holiday Premium Pay” for more information.

When a recognized holiday falls on Saturday or Sunday and is observed by NXP on Friday or Monday, the date of the observance is considered the holiday for pay purposes.

In 2025, the holidays will be observed on the following days:

  • New Year’s Day – January 1, 2025
  • Memorial Day – May 26, 2025
  • Juneteenth – June 19, 2025
  • Independence Day – July 4, 2025
  • Labor Day – September 1, 2025
  • Thanksgiving Day – November 27, 2025
  • Day after Thanksgiving – November 28, 2025
  • Christmas Eve – December 24, 2025
  • Christmas Day – December 25, 2025

Jury Duty

NXP provides paid leave for employees required to serve on a criminal or civil jury. To be eligible for paid leave while serving on jury duty, you must be an active NXP employee. This policy does not apply to non-employees employed by third parties or independent contractors who conduct business with or for NXP. For more information, please refer to the Jury Duty Procedure .

If you are eligible for jury duty, please ensure that you partner with your manager to have your paid jury duty time captured in the NXP time keeping system.

Bereavement

NXP provides employees with time off from work and limited pay continuance during absences for the purpose of attending to matters associated with the death of a family member. This is applicable to all NXP employees on the payroll of an NXP entity based in the United States, with the exception of interns, students and employees on a leave of absence. For more information please refer to the Bereavement Procedure .

If you are eligible for bereavement leave, please ensure that you partner with your manager to have your paid bereavement time captured in the NXP time keeping system.

If you’ve lost a family member, you may need to update your benefits. We will have a checklist posted soon to guide you through the event of a death.
