With the launch of the TM7, the newest Thermomix generation, this long-standing collaboration entered its next chapter. Together, Vorwerk and NXP designed an intelligent edge platform that delivers an immersive, responsive and connected Thermomix experience.
For the Thermomix TM7, Vorwerk wanted to raise the bar for connected cooking. The ambition was clear: make cooking feel smarter, more intuitive and increasingly autonomous, with technology that guides users naturally, adapts in real time and reduces complexity in the kitchen.
That meant pushing Thermomix further to deliver a richer digital experience, faster responsiveness and seamless connectivity. All while preserving the precise performance users already trust.
Achieving this vision required the TM7 to run multiple demanding workloads simultaneously, including human-machine interaction, real-time motor control, wireless connectivity and compact power management.
Many connected products solve this by combining technologies from multiple suppliers. But as digital experiences become more sophisticated, that fragmented approach can slow progress — adding integration complexity, extending development timelines and making software migration harder across generations.
For Vorwerk, speed mattered. The TM7 needed to move forward quickly, without rebuilding the platform or introducing unnecessary complexity. Continuity mattered too. With more than a decade of Thermomix development behind it, preserving existing software investments and engineering foundations was essential.
Vorwerk needed a partner that could support the system as a whole, not just individual components. That's where NXP's role became critical. As a long-standing engineering partner, NXP could help Vorwerk scale performance, accelerate development and maintain continuity across generations.

For the TM7, Vorwerk and NXP took a system-level approach from the start.
As part of this process, NXP's Customer Application Support (CAS) and Systems Engineering teams worked alongside Vorwerk's engineers from early architecture through launch. The teams held regular technical workshops to stay aligned, while NXP provided local and regional application support, as well as on-site engineering on demand.
Together, the teams landed on a four-domain system solution that gave the Thermomix TM7 a single intelligent edge platform spanning four core domains:
The platform uses multi-core application processing to support the TM7's rich digital experience.
The same processing architecture handles 3D/2D graphics, H.265 video for guided cooking and audio and voice features that keep the TM7 responsive.
A real-time control core handles deterministic motor control and power factor correction.
Using NXP's motor-control development tools, including FreeMASTER, Vorwerk's engineers gained deeper visibility into motor behavior throughout development. This helped the team tune the system more quickly for the high-torque cooking workloads Thermomix is known for.
A compact Wi-Fi 6 module delivered the wireless throughput the TM7 needs.
It supports Cookidoo recipe streaming, over-the-air software updates and Vorwerk's broader connected ecosystem.
NXP's integrated power management IC sequences and regulates power across the platform. That keeps the TM7's countertop footprint compact while running high-performance multimedia and high-torque motor workloads side by side.
NXP and Vorwerk built the TM7 to be the gold-standard for all-in-one cooking appliances. By engineering the TM7 as one integrated platform spanning four NXP technology domains, Vorwerk was able to deliver a more cohesive, intuitive user experience while building on its existing software foundation. The result: faster development, lower migration risk and a stronger platform for future innovation.
