Advances in seamless connectivity are accelerating the transformation of autonomous homes and buildings, turning them
into intelligent ecosystems that anticipate needs, protect assets and adapt in real time—ultimately creating
environments that don’t just function, but actively brighten and elevate our lives.
This year at CES, NXP revealed how we are driving the future of connected living—advancing industry collaborations
and
unveiling intelligent system solutions that power AI‑enabled healthcare, secure access for homes and buildings,
next‑generation doorbells and advanced control panels. Together, these innovations transform everyday spaces into
dynamic environments that protect, connect and enrich our lives in real time.
Home Control Panel
Consumers expect smart thermostats that deliver comfort, efficiency and seamless integration across the connected
home.
Traditional designs often lacked balance in responsive user interfaces, real‑time HVAC control and interoperability
with
modern standards.
NXP addresses these challenges with its i.MX 93 reference design, combining low‑power heterogeneous processing,
built‑in
edge AI, and multimodal presence detection (ultra-wideband known as UWB + Wi-Fi channel state information known as
CSI).
As a Matter‑certified controller, this platform offers automatic configuration, robust wireless coexistence and
secure
device management—all in a plug‑and‑play solution. The result is predictive climate control and future‑ready
intelligence that helps customers accelerate development and bring next‑generation smart home products to market
faster.

Secure Home and Building Access
Smart access is becoming essential for modern homes and buildings, where consumers expect secure, reliable and
convenient entry through phones, wearables or smart devices. Traditional systems faced limitations with multiple
connectivity protocols, complex certifications, battery life and seamless integration with mobile platforms.
NXP meets the challenge this with its Aliro
+ Matter access solution—a complete hardware/software platform optimized
for
rapid prototyping and development. By streamlining design, accelerating time‑to‑market and enabling advanced
features
like UWB ranging, NFC tap access and mobile wallet integration, this platform is tuned for low-power and longer
battery
life. The result is a unified, future‑ready access system that delivers secure, hands‑free entry and
interoperability
across the smart home ecosystem.

NFC Commissioning for Matter
Commissioning smart home devices should be simple, secure and flexible—but traditional QR code methods create design
restrictions, require unboxing and complicate installation. This approach also involves bulk deployments and
embedded
devices where codes are inaccessible, leaving homeowners and installers with not only inefficiency, but also added
risk.
NXP addresses this barrier with its SE051H+ single integrated circuit (IC), combining NFC and a common criteria EAL6+
secure element, fully integrated with NXP Matter host platforms. This approach enables secure NFC commissioning even
in
the absence of power or internet, supports bulk setup without unboxing and ensures strong cryptographic protection

and
US Cyber Trust Mark (CTM) standards. The result is a more efficient, secure and design‑friendly way to bring Matter
devices online—accelerating development and improving user confidence.

Intelligent Doorbell
Consumers demand smart doorbells that deliver secure, reliable access without draining batteries or functionality
dependent on the cloud. Traditional designs fall short of the power efficiency, accurate face recognition in
real‑world
conditions and seamless integration needed to meet modern smart home standards.
NXP closes this gap by combining radar‑based presence detection with edge AI face recognition on its optimized MCU
platforms. The result is a low‑power, Matter‑ready solution that ensures fast, secure authentication, flexible
camera
support and future‑proof connectivity—helping designers bring next‑generation doorbell products to market faster.
