NXP introduces the RW610FML—a compact and high-performance certified wireless connectivity module based on NXP’s RW610 Wi-Fi 6 microcontroller (MCU).

The RW610FML is a low-power, high-performance Wi Fi 6 and Bluetooth® combo module supporting IEEE 802.11a/b/g/n/ac/ax and Bluetooth Low Energy (LE) protocols.
The RW610FML module integrates embedded memory and an MCU with a rich set of peripheral interfaces, enabling flexible design and broad application support across IoT, industrial and consumer devices.
NXP’s RW610FML module is based on the RW610—a highly integrated, low-power wireless MCU with an integrated MCU and Wi-Fi 6 plus Bluetooth LE radios. The RW610 MCU subsystem includes a 260 MHz Arm® Cortex®-M33 core with Trustzone® -M, 1.2 MB on-chip static random-access memory (SRAM) and a high-bandwidth Quad Serial Peripheral Interface (SPI) with an on-the-fly decryption engine for securely accessing off-chip execute-in-place (XIP) flash.

The RW610 includes a full-featured 1x1 dual-band (2.4 GHz/5 GHz) 20 MHz Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax) subsystem that delivers higher throughput, better network efficiency, lower latency and improved range over previous-generation Wi-Fi standards.
The Bluetooth LE radio supports a 2 Mbit/s high-speed data rate, long-range and extended advertising.

NXP’s new RW610FML module includes a powerful MCU inside with rich peripherals and large embedded SRAM for advanced use cases. The high-performance radios—such as Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth LE—deliver strong RF performance with advanced coexistence.
The module combines high performance and advanced features as listed below for next-generation connectivity design:
- Based on the NXP RW610
- 260 MHz Arm Cortex -M33
- Supports IEEE 802.11a/b/g/n/ac/ax specifications: dual-band 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz Wi-Fi 6 single-input single-output (SISO) with 20 MHz channels and up to Modulation and Coding Scheme 9 (MCS9) (114 Mbps), peak data rate
- Supports Bluetooth LE features including 2 Mbit/s high-speed mode, long-range operation and extended advertising
- 8 MB NOR Flash on-module and 1.2 MB embedded SRAM on-chip
- Two FlexSPI interfaces: one for external NOR flash (XIP) and one for external PSRAM expansion
- Supports general-purpose input/output (GPIO), Secure Digital Input Output (SDIO) 3.0, USB, universal asynchronous receiver-transmitter (UART), inter-integrated circuit (I2C), SPI, Inter-IC Sound/pulse-code modulation (I2S/PCM), State Configurable Timer/pulse-width modulation (SCTimer/PWM), LCD, digital microphone interface (DMIC), analog comparator (ACOMP), digital-to-analog converter (DAC), analog-to-digital converter (ADC), micro-tick timer (UTICK), Universal Subscriber Identity Module (USIM), Wireless Coexistence Interface 2 (WCI-2), packet traffic arbitration (PTA), Joint Test Action Group (JTAG) and Serial Wire Debug (SWD), supported via pin multiplexing
- Normal operating temperature range: -40 °C to 85 °C
