NCA2000 Development Platform

The NCA2000 PCI-X Card Development Platform is a turn-key, self-contained system for the development, testing, validation, optimization and demonstration of software for network security and other content processing applications. The platform hardware consists of a NCA2000 PCI-X card housed in a popular, standard 1U rack-mount server chassis that has been pre-qualified for mechanical, thermal, power and functional compatibilities. In addition, to aid development and debugging, there is a special serial port arrangement for direct console access to the processor(s) on the card. The system server board and the NCA2000 card are populated with the appropriate amount of memory. The Platform is preloaded and preconfigured with all the necessary systems software as well as software tools required for applications software developmen and testing.

The NCA2000 PCI-X card family brings an unprecedented level of performance to 1U/2U rack-mount PC-based appliances by providing 2 Gbps of advanced layer 2-7 processing. With four NCA2000 models available, the customer can choose the product that offers the features required by their particular application.

The NCA2000 delivers advanced network processing, stream switching, content processing and application offload to enable a 10-20 fold improvement in system performance. By offloading layer 2-7 data path processing onto the NCA2000 card, the system's host processor can be dedicated to high-level application and control path processing. Rather than developing costly custom hardware to achieve their performance and feature goals, equipment manufacturers can now focus on developing advanced software applications and services that bring value to their customers.
