Connecting to target system serial port

Many target system boards have a built-in serial port. A console interface connection to the serial port of the target system lets you query and configure the state of your target system.

The Ethernet TAP probe provides a serial port which can be configured to access the serial port of the target system. This is useful if you need to access the serial port of a remotely located target system over Ethernet from the host system.
