 DESCRIPTION AND PURPOSE

 The MC68330 family has been selected for EOL per notification PD4480
  issued in January 1999.

 The last buy date was 30-Jun-1999.
 The last ship date is 20-APR-2000.

 This update is being issued to include the MC68330CPV16A, which was
 neglected
 to be placed on the original EOL. Per PD4480, this device can no
 longer be manufactured at Motorola, so a shortened EOL is necessary.


 The last buy will be 20-APR-2000
 The last ship date will be 30-JUN-2000

 This update is required to include MC68330CPV16A as one of the
 devices listed in
 PD4480.  The original purpose in PD4480 is unchanged and is
 applicable to MC68330CPV16A.

 ORIGINAL PRODUCT DISCONTINUANCE DESCRIPTION:
 Motorola does not recommend the use of the MC68605FN, MC68605RC,
 MC68606RC or MC68824RC devices for new designs.  These devices are
 being discontinued.  Likewise, the MC68330PV, MC68349FT and
 SC414416FT25 devices are being discontinued.

 As CMOS technologies have rapidly migrated to higher levels of
 integration and smaller geometries, efficient manufacturing of low
 volume, older technology devices, by Motorola, is no longer viable.
 Therefore, Motorola is formally announcing an end-of-life for the
 MC68605FN, MC68605RC, MC68606RC, MC68824RC, MC68330PV, MC68349FT and
 SC414416FT25 device families.

 We are providing this notification to allow our valued customers
 time to plan for the placement of lifetime buys with Motorola.

 This notice will serve as the lifetime buy announcement. The
 lifetime buy announcement means that the MC68605FN, MC68606RC,
 MC68824RC, MC68330PV, MC68349FT and SC414416FT25 devices can be
 ordered until June 30, 1999 and shipments can be scheduled for an
 additional 10 months to April 20, 2000.  Lifetime buys are
 non-cancelable, non-returnable.  Please do not hesitate to contact

 information.
